NEW YORK (AP) — Nets guard Joe Johnson sat out for the first time this season Friday against Houston because of plantar fasciitis in his left foot.

Interim coach P.J. Carlesimo says the pain was bothering Johnson after Wednesday's victory over Milwaukee, when he managed only eight points. The night before, Johnson had made the game-winning jumper to beat the Bucks.

C.J. Watson replaced Johnson, who plays a team-high 38 minutes per game and is second in scoring, averaging 17 points.

Houston was also short-handed, since newly acquired Thomas Robinson, Francisco Garcia and Tyler Honeycutt, acquired from Sacramento on Wednesday, weren't available yet because the players sent to the Kings hadn't completed their physicals in time.
