MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — There's a new book promoting more than 100 Alabama cities and attractions that are good for a quick getaway.

The 144-page "Alabama Road Trips" book goes on sale Friday at Books-A-Million, Amazon.com and other locations.

State Tourism Director Lee Sentell says the book is a guide to two- and three-day trips in Alabama from the Tennessee Valley to the coast. It features 52 road trips, or one for each week of the year.

The book includes the Lookout Mountain Parkway; Birmingham's Five Points South neighborhood; the Selma-to-Montgomery civil rights area; football attractions in Auburn and Tuscaloosa; beaches; and the state space museum in Huntsville.

The hardcover book was produced by The Birmingham News and Alabama Media Group in conjunction with the state. It sells for $20.
