You wouldn’t know by the pending arrival of Winter Storm 2013-14 XXVIII, but spring is just around the corner.

Oh wait, spring doesn’t technically arrive until the tail-end of March? Well, maybe you can get into a spring state of mind with the latest beer from Choc Beer Co.

Choc’s spring seasonal is back, but with a slight twist. You may remember that last year Choc offered a Spring Pilsner:

They have ditched that idea this year and have returned to a past version of their spring seasonal, Spring IPA:

Officially, Choc President Zach Prichard said that while the company likes the recipe for Spring Pilsner, they were not happy with sales numbers on the pilsner last year. Thus, they return to Spring IPA. This is either available now or will be available in stores soon.

Also expected on store shelves soon — maybe as early as tonight — is Roughtail’s newest beer, Rock Tsar:

I was lucky enough to get a sample of this beer, and for me, the Double Oatmeal Russian Imperial Stout title is an accurate explanation. I really got a strong and enjoyable oatmeal character from the beer. I’d recommend you pick up a bottle, and maybe even one extra to age for a bit.
