Crews are busy preparing the newest Oklahoma City metro-area campus for its grand opening on July 13.

The Broadway and Britton church at 9001 N Broadway Extension is Edmond-based’s eighth metro-area campus and one of its more high-profile satellites.

The Rev. Vince Parker, campus pastor for the new satellite, said he predicts its visibility and accessibility from the Broadway Extension, one of the most heavily traveled thoroughfares in the metro, will help attract newcomers to the house of worship.

“People will drive by and see it and come in,” he said.

Parker, 38, of Midwest City, said the new church building is 36,001 square feet, and the sanctuary area includes 800 chairs. Like all of the campuses, the satellite includes an expansive lobby area and a colorful, interactive area for children and youths, called LifeKids.

He said the church will offer three Sunday services featuring contemporary style worship music and faith messages from the Rev. Craig Groeschel, the church’s founding senior pastor, via broadcast satellite. He said infants, children and youths will experience a faith message geared for their age level in the LifeKids area.

Parker said he has been a staff member for five years, helping to launch the Midwest City campus in 2011. He also served at Northwest Oklahoma City, 5821 Northwest Expressway.

He said he doesn’t know how many people to expect at the satellite’s grand opening, but he knows that many people have expressed excitement about the new campus. Some of them, Parker said, live near the new campus, and others are coming over from other campuses to help get the satellite launched.

Parker said their enthusiasm, coupled with curiosity about the new church that has been expressed by people in the surrounding community, likely will translate into well-attended services on the opening Sunday.

“God’s going to open the doors, and we’re excited to see what He does,” Parker said.

With the addition of the new campus, has 19 campuses nationwide, including satellites in Texas, Tennessee, New York and Florida. Church leaders said 55,000 people attend the multisite church each weekend.
