New Class 5A districts: Four metro powerhouses staying together

The OSSAA board of directors approved the new Class 5A districts for the 2014-15 season at their monthly board meeting Wednesday.

The big news in the new Class 5A districts is the fact that Carl Albert, Guthrie, Deer Creek and McGuinness — four of the strongest programs in the class — all remained together in District 2. Piedmont, making the move up from 4A, got lumped in with those four programs, while El Reno and Northwest Classen were able to escape and move over to District 1.
