New education board member stresses early childhood education

A 43-year-old Tulsa executive, approved by the Senate last week to serve on the state Education Board, said he will bring to the board a passion for early childhood education, connections to private resources and years of experience on nonprofit boards.

Phil Lakin, Jr. is the chief executive officer for the Tulsa Community Foundation , a nonprofit organization that assists other charitable efforts.
