CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) — Newly-arrived Eastern Illinois football coach Kim Dameron has hired the first two members of his staff.

Dameron said Friday in a news release that Greg Stevens will be the Panthers' new offensive coordinator and Kane Wommack is the new defensive coordinator.

Stevens was the offensive coordinator last season at Southeastern Louisiana. The Lions averaged 483.3 yards and 38.4 points a game while making it to the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs. Stevens previously worked as an assistant coach at Delta State, Utah State, Stephen F. Austin and Arkansas-Monticello.

Wommack comes from Ole Miss where he was an assistant working with the safeties. He previously coached at Jacksonville State and Tennessee-Martin.

Dameron was hired last week to replace Dino Babers after Babers left to become head coach at Bowling Green.
