New head of MidAmerica Industrial Park is named
Gov. Mary Fallin names the former head of the Cherokee Nation Businesses to head up a state authority that operates the industrial park in Pryor.
The former president of Cherokee Nation Businesses will head the state authority that operates the MidAmerica Industrial Park in Pryor.
Gov. Mary Fallin announced the appointment Thursday of David Stewart as chief administrative officer of the Oklahoma Ordnance Works Authority, which operates the MidAmerica Industrial Park. Stewart has experience in a variety of enterprises, according to the governor's office.

Stewart's appointment is effective immediately. His pay will be set by the authority board.
Stewart, of Tulsa, is the third administrator of the authority, succeeding Sanders Mitchell who headed the organization for 35 years before retiring earlier this year.
The authority, created as a state beneficiary public trust in 1960, owns and operates the 9,000-acre MidAmerica Industrial Park.
The park has nearly 80 companies, including Google, Solae, Airgas, Georgia- Pacific and Red Devil.
Stewart is the former president and chief executive officer of Cherokee Nation Businesses LLC and the wholly owned parent/holding company of the Cherokee Nation, which is charged with the economic development and business diversification across the Cherokee Nation's business entities.
