New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will be a special guest at a Dec. 5 campaign fundraiser for Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin.

The event is being billed as a birthday celebration for Fallin, who will turn 59 on Dec. 9.

Net proceeds will go to support her 2014 gubernatorial re-election campaign.

Christie is viewed as a likely Republican presidential candidate in 2016 and his upcoming appearance at Fallin's fundraiser has sparked some speculation he might be considering Fallin as a vice presidential nominee.

“Governor Fallin is focused on Oklahoma and is not pursuing any other office,” Alex Weintz, a spokesman for Fallin, said when asked about the possibility.

The event will cost $125 per person to attend and will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center in downtown Oklahoma City.
