“Justice League of America's Vibe” No. 1 also goes on sale Feb. 20 from writers Andrew Kreisberg and Geoff Johns and artist Pete Woods.

Katana's solo series is written by Ann Nocenti and drawn by Alex Sanchez. “Justice League of America's Katana” No. 1, and is set for Feb. 13.

“Justice League of America” artist David Finch will provide the cover for the first issues of “Vibe” and “Katana.”

Dealing with lesser-known and underappreciated characters is something Johns finds appealing, he said in an interview with MTV Geek.

“The characters that I really enjoy writing and I gravitate toward are characters that might at first glance feel less than other superheroes and that's the whole point of the Justice League of America,” Johns said. “It's all about finding characters who you have low expectations for and hopefully they surprise you both in story and in the universe. Designing this book to be all about finding the potential in you no matter who you are is what, for me, makes the book a lot of fun to work on.”
