Now playing tonight at the Ford Center: The Rebirth of Shaquille O’Neal.

The NBA’s most dominant big man of this era has been resurrected in 2008-09, bouncing back from the worst season of his career a year ago to show the NBA world he still has something left.

His quest for a title with a third franchise, Phoenix, comes through the Ford Center at 7 p.m.

"If this was like a book it would be sort of like the closing chapter,” O’Neal said. "I’ve made the statement that I’ve got two years left.”

Basically, that’s my way of saying I’ve got two years to either get one or two championships and we’ll see what happens after that.”

O’Neal averaged a career-low 13.6 points and 9.1 rebounds in 61 games last season in Miami and Phoenix. Through 13 games this year, O’Neal is averaging 15.4 points and 8.6 rebounds for the 9-5 Suns. He’s coming to town fresh off a 19-point, 17-rebound performance in a 102-92 win over Portland.

"Last year, I came (to Phoenix) in the middle of the season, and they weren’t used to playing with me and I wasn’t used to playing with them,” O’Neal said in explaining the difference in his performance this season. "But now we’ve been through training camp together and we’ve been in and out of wars together. So I think in the overall picture of things we’ll be fine.

"I’m just feeling pretty good. I’m light on my feet. My teammates are looking for me so I’m just out there having fun. I’ve got two years left and we’ll see what happens after that. But I’m just going to have fun and make it do what it do.”
