NORMAN — Oklahoma stunned the college football world in New Orleans last week with its 45-31 Sugar Bowl upset of Alabama.

Wednesday night, the Sooners’ run of luck in the Big Easy continued, as big offensive tackle Joseph Paul became Oklahoma’s 21st commitment in its 2014 recruiting class.

Paul (6-foot-4, 340 pounds), from New Orleans’ St. Augustine High, is a two-star prospect according to Rivals, but boasts an impressive list of offers that includes Florida State, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M and UCLA.

He is the Sooners’ fourth 2014 offensive line commitment, joining Jonathan Alvarez (Mesquite, Texas), Natrell Curtis (Phoenix) and Alex Dalton (Troy, Ohio).

Paul also becomes Oklahoma’s third 2014 commitment since the Sugar Bowl. Jenks defensive tackle Marquise Overton also committed to be part of the Sooners’ 2015 signing class.

Verbal commitments are non-binding. High school prospects cannot sign National Letters of Intent until Wednesday, Feb. 5.
