New towns incorporate for benefits, state grants

RIVER SPRINGS — The incorporation of towns in Oklahoma isn't as rare as people might think.

In fact, the most recent incorporated town to file with the Secretary of State was Tullahassee in Wagoner County on June 1, 2007.

Thirty-six towns have incorporated statewide in the past 10 years. Among those listed are Medicine Park, Jan. 23, 2003, in Comanche County and Perkins, May 20, 1999, in Payne County .
