Newcomer update: A look at Oklahoma State players who made season debut against Mississippi State

Saturday’s season opener for Oklahoma State also marked the Cowboy debut for 12 players. Here’s what the three redshirt freshmen, five transfers and four true freshmen did in their first game.

Redshirt freshmen

Receiver Jhajuan Seales: One catch, 14 yards
Defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah: Three tackles, one sack
Offensive lineman Zac Veatch: No stats

Transfers
Punter/kickoff specialist Kip Smith: Six punts (average of 45.2 yards, long of 54, four downed inside 20), Four kickoffs (average of 59.8 yards, no touchbacks)
Defensive tackle Ofa Hautau: No stats
Cornerback Tyler Patmon: No stats
Offensive lineman Brandon Garrett: Made tackle on return after field goal block
Defensive end Sam Wren: One tackle

True freshmen
Kicker Ben Grogan: 49-yard field goal attempt blocked
Receiver Marcell Ateman: One catch, six yards
Defensive back Deric Robertson: No stats
Defensive back Taylor Lewis: One pass breakup
