The News and Information Center for The Oklahoman/NewOK.com is accepting applications for interns for summer 2015.
WHERE WILL YOU WORK? Areas such as the Local Desk, Breaking News Team, Watchdog Team, Sports, Business, Features, Niche Publications, Photography, Video, Online Communities, Presentation or other areas.
YOUR ADDED BENEFITS: All of the interns participate in a day-long orientation and training program, are given mentors and are involved in the paper's training program, which includes coaching in writing, editing, database and leadership. They also will be able to participate in special activities for interns and companywide activities, such as our outstanding fitness center. Most importantly, they will participate in work that will have a direct effect on The Oklahoman, NewsOK.com or other OPUBCO Communications Group’s initiatives.
YOUR PAY: The pay for interns will be about $11 an hour. We give preference to juniors, seniors and graduate students who have college and professional multimedia experience.
INTERNSHIP LEADS TO PROMISING FUTURE: Most of our interns either have returned to The Oklahoman/NewsOK.com or now work at major market newspapers or mediums, The Associated Press or other major media-related areas.
