NewsOK named one of nation's best newspaper sports websites

NewsOK Sports — was named one of the 10 best newspaper sports websites in the country by the Associated Press Sports Editors.

For the third straight year, has been designated as one of the nation's top newspaper sports websites by the Associated Press Sports Editors.

NewsOK, the website for The Oklahoman, was ranked among the top 10 for sites with at least 2 million unique monthly visitors. Joining NewsOK in the top 10 were the Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, Minneapolis Star-Tribune, New York Daily News, New York Times, Palm Beach Post, South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Washington Post and USA Today.

A panel of 24 judges evaluated newspaper sports websites over two dates, selected at random by the contest chair.

"We're honored that the APSE judges like what we're doing to serve our readers," said Oklahoman sports editor Mike Sherman.

NewsOK/The Oklahoman joins the Boston Globe, New York Daily News, New York Times, Washington Post and USA Today as the only sites to earn the top-10 distinction in the top category all three years APSE has judged newspaper websites.
