Former Oklahoma State safety Markelle Martin will not run or participate in position drills at the NFL Scouting Combine because of a knee injury, he announced on his personal Twitter account Friday.

Martin, who is projected as a middle-to-late round pick, posted that he has a pinched nerve and fluid on his knee and that the injury happened “a few weeks ago.” He has been training for the combine at OSU.

Martin will still interview with NFL teams in Indianapolis. Defensive backs are scheduled to work out Tuesday.

Martin was an All-American selection by the American Football Coaches Association and the Associated Press in 2011 after tallying 74 tackles, 11 pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Former OSU players participating at the combine include wide receiver Justin Blackmon, quarterback Brandon Weeden, wide receiver Josh Cooper, defensive end Jamie Blatnick and safety Johnny Thomas.
