NFL Draft: Comparing past OU and OSU picks' high school ratings with their draft stock

Sixty-one players have been drafted during Bob Stoops' tenure at Oklahoma, while 15 Oklahoma State players have been selected during the Mike Gundy era.

But how were those players rated as high-school recruits? And can we apply a similar rankings system to the NFL Draft?

The star system is, of course, tricky. Does the fact that OU's Rufus Alexander and OSU's Markelle Martin, who were both four-star recruits, were taken in the sixth round mean they regressed or didn't live up to expectations in college? Not necessarily, especially when several blue-chip recruits never even evolve into legitimate draft prospects.

On the other hand, OU's Sam Bradford morphed from a three-star recruit to the No. 1 overall pick. And OSU has helped develop one two-star recruit (Brandon Pettigrew), two three-star prospects (Russell Okung and Justin Blackmon) and one former walk-on (Brandon Weeden) into first-round selections.

Here's a look back at how OU's and OSU's draft picks since 2005 were rated coming out of high school, and what their NFL Draft star ranking could have been, if the league used a similar system:
