"The NFL is not going anywhere. If they want me, they want me,” McCoy said. "I’m in no rush to leave, because after college, it’s the real world. And I don’t want to look back and be like, ‘Dang, I sure wish I had stayed in college another year or two years or whatever.’
"My father always tells me, ‘You’re not going to get your college days back, so make the most of it while you’re there.’”
McCoy is making the most of his college experience, both on and off the field.
On the field, his return for another season in the middle of the defense is a big reason why the Sooners have hopes for another Big 12 title and another run at the national championship.
"I think with the guys we have coming back and the guys we have filling in, that’s going to be a goal that’s very reachable,” McCoy said. "This group we have now has a lot of chemistry, and I think that was a reason why our team last year was so good. We have a lot of that still, because we have grown closer.”
