The Chiefs already know what teams they will play in 2014 and where they will play them, but the dates and times of those games will finally become public at 7 p.m. Wednesday, when the league reveals its regular-season schedule.
The combined winning percentage of the Chiefs’ 2014 opponents is .558, which is much higher than the .445 combined winning percentage of their 2013 opponents. And by the numbers, the Chiefs’ 2014 schedule is a little more difficult than the league’s hardest schedule in 2013, which belonged to the Carolina Panthers.
Aside from their divisional opponents, the Chiefs will play San Francisco, Arizona, Miami, Pittsburgh and Buffalo on the road and Seattle, New England, Tennessee, St. Louis and the New York Jets at home. And yes, that slate includes all four of the league’s conference finalists last season.
A handful of dates have already been set. The Seahawks will play host to the league’s annual Kickoff Game on Sept. 4 — a Thursday night — and the league’s three games in London have already been set, as Miami will face Oakland on Sept. 28, Detroit will face Atlanta on Oct. 26 and Dallas will face Jacksonville on Nov. 9.
