PERRY — A business administrator at a Nichols Hills church remained in jail Thursday after admitting to police that he sexually molested a 13-year-old girl.
Scott Barber, 36, of Perry, was arrested Saturday on complaints of rape by instrumentation, lewd acts with a minor and threats to perform violence, after a teenage girl told police Barber had sexually molested her over the past two years, according to police documents.
Barber is accused of threatening the teenager and her mother if she told anyone about the sexual acts, police said.
Barber initially denied the accusations to police, but later admitted to some of the allegations. He said the teenage girl was the aggressor in their sexual relationship and that it was consensual, according to police documents.
The Nichols Hills United Methodist Church, 1212 Bedford Drive, lists Barber as a church business administrator on its website.
Barber is being held in the Noble County jail on $250,000 bail.
