A jailed doctor lowered his head this morning when a judge told him police took him in on murder and assault complaints.

Stephen Paul Wolf, 51, was arrested Monday morning at his home in Nichols Hills. Police report he fatally stabbed his son and cut his wife. The son, Tommy, was 9.

He repeatedly told the police officer who broke up the attack on his son, "He's got the devil in him and you know it," according to a police arrest affidavit.

This morning, Oklahoma County Special Judge Russell Hall denied Wolf bail. The doctor has not been charged.

"Now, the police, they'll file a report with the district attorney's office," the judge told Wolf. "The DA will decide what to file. As a rule, it takes about a week."

His one-minute appearance before the judge was done by video. The judge and Wolf's defense attorney, Mack Martin, were in the judge's chambers. Wolf was in the jail. He was dressed in orange jail clothes.

Wolf only spoke to the judge to give his name. He said, "OK," when his attorney said the two probably would talk in the jail later today.
