The Nichols Hills doctor accused of fatally stabbing his son is on a suicide-prevention watch at the Oklahoma County jail, officials said.

Stephen Paul Wolf, 51, was arrested Monday morning after a police officer found him on top of his stabbed son in the kitchen of their home, according to a police arrest affidavit. The victim, Tommy, was 9.

He repeatedly told the police, "He’s got the devil in him and you know it,” according to the police affidavit.

Wolf has not been charged. At a brief hearing Wednesday, an Oklahoma County judge denied bail.

The doctor lowered his head when Special Judge Russell Hall told him police took him in on homicide and assault complaints. Police allege the doctor assaulted his wife, Mary, and killed their son.

"Now, the police, they’ll file a report with the district attorney’s office,” the judge told Wolf. "The DA will decide what to file. As a rule, it takes about a week.”

The video hearing lasted a minute. The judge and defense attorney Mack Martin were in the judge’s chambers at the courthouse. Wolf was in the jail but could be seen on a monitor. Ongoing coverage: Stephen P. Wolf
