ABUJA, Nigeria (AP) — The Nigeria Football Federation says a fire has damaged part of its headquarters.
The federation says the fire broke out Wednesday morning at the building in the Nigerian capital of Abuja. The federation blamed it on an electrical fault.
It said the NFF general secretary's office and an IT room were damaged but no one was hurt.
It's the latest setback for Nigerian football after it was suspended from all international competitions last month by FIFA because of government interference in the running of the NFF. FIFA lifted the suspension on the understanding that the federation president and other elected officials were reinstated after being sacked.
