Nikki McCann's promotion leaves Mustang seeking girls basketball coach

by Scott Wright Modified: May 13, 2013 at 4:42 pm •  Published: April 30, 2013

Pending school board approval, Mustang girls basketball coach Nikki McCann will be promoted into an administrative role as an athletic facilitator, leaving the school to search for a new girls basketball coach.

McCann coached the team the last two seasons, winning 28 total games during that span after coming over from Putnam City North.

This is the third time in as many years that Mustang finds itself in a similar situation. McCann was hired to replace Robert Foreman two years ago when he moved into an administration job with the school district. And Terry Long was brought in as the boys basketball coach last year after Alan Green was promoted into a role as the school’s athletic compliance director.
