No. 16 Texas A&M surges late, beats Houston 63-51

HOUSTON (AP) — Courtney Walker scored a game-high 19 points and Achiri Ade added 18 with 11 rebounds as No. 16 Texas A&M pulled away from Houston 63-51 Sunday.

The Aggies (3-0) shot 39.7 percent from the field to Houston's 30.2, and led by as much as 11 before the Cougars used an 11-3 run to close within three, 45-42, midway through the second half.

Texas A&M responded with a run of its own as Walker hit two jumpers and a 3-pointer to increase the lead back to 12 with 3:48 remaining.

Walker shot 9 of 17 from the field, dished out a game-high six assists and had six rebounds. Courtney Williams hauled in 11 rebounds for the Aggies.

The Cougars (0-3) were paced by Marche' Amerson with 12 points. Demetria Foreman scored 10 and Yasmeen Thompson had eight with 10 boards.
