NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Fourth-ranked Oklahoma hopes to avoid a trap when it plays at unranked Tulsa on Saturday.

Tulsa opened the season with a 38-31 double overtime win over Tulane. The Golden Hurricane gained nearly 600 yards of offense, Dane Evans passed for 438 yards and Keevan Lucas caught 13 passes for 233 yards and three scores.

Oklahoma counters with cornerback Zack Sanchez and a defense that held Louisiana Tech to 191 yards passing in a 48-16 season-opening win.

The Sooners have won the past seven meetings with and haven't lost to the Golden Hurricane since 1996. Oklahoma has won by an average of 37.3 points during the streak and has shut Tulsa in three of those games.
