Do you know someone who has gone above and beyond to prevent child abuse in Oklahoma?
The Family Support and Prevention Service at the Oklahoma Department of Health is seeking nominations to recognize people or organizations making a difference in child abuse prevention. Awards will be given April 8 in four categories on Child Abuse Prevention Day at the state Capitol.
Nominations are due by March 12. The four awards are:
Outstanding Elected Official Award, to recognize an elected official for distinguished service on behalf of children and families in Oklahoma.
Marion Jacewitz Award, to recognize an individual in Oklahoma who has made significant contributions to the prevention of child abuse on a statewide level.
Outstanding Child Abuse Prevention Program Award, recognizing an exceptional community program that has an emphasis in child abuse prevention.
Mary Ellen Wilson Award, to recognize an individual who has demonstrated outstanding commitment and dedication to child abuse prevention activities in his or her community.
