Marfan group sets first meeting
The National Marfan Foundation's Oklahoma City Network Group will have its first meeting from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Mark Heitz Chevrolet, 1221 Ed Noble Parkway in Norman.
The network group, which will be led by Krystal Teal, will provide a forum for people with Marfan syndrome and related disorders to share experiences and information and provide peer support.
At the meeting, attendees will have an opportunity to meet each other and talk about future activities and get-togethers. It is open to anyone with Marfan syndrome or a related connective tissue disorder, their family and friends. Members of the public who would like to learn more about the condition are also invited to attend.
Marfan syndrome is a potentially fatal connective tissue disorder that affects the heart, blood vessels, eyes, bones, joints and lungs. It is often, but not always, characterized by a tall stature and disproportionately long legs and arms.

Center plans giving event
Dale Rogers Training Center is participating as an Oklahoma #GivingTuesday partner in the annual movement.
#GivingTuesday follows the branded “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday” and is designed to give back in a charitable effort the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.
The movement has a growing list of partners that numbers 1,000 people in 50 states, all who are working to lead the nation to “Get Out the Give.”
The Dale Rogers Training Center, which provides training and employment to people with disabilities, is participating by encouraging people to shop for gifts on its online store to support the center.

Foundation celebrates success
The Sooner Oklahoma City chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation recently celebrated a successful year of fundraising and medical advancements with a party and the commissioning of an original piece of art by Benjamin Harjo Jr.
Dick and Jeannette Sias commissioned the piece depicting 65 roses called “Love and Caring” for the foundation, and the artist created 65 limited edition prints for donors who make a contribution of $650 or more.
