Is that a cheer I hear?

Nordstrom Rack opens Thursday at Belle Isle Station, just east of Penn Square Mall.  Oklahoma City shoppers are ready.

If this is like the other Racks I’ve been in, it’ll be packed from corner to corner with clothing for men, women and children at prices up to 50 to 60 percent off retail. And shoes. Ahhhh, yes, shoes.

The Rack is the off-price division of Nordstrom.

The store opens at 9 a.m. and the first 1,000 shoppers receive a free reusable tote bag. The retailer said the grand opening festivities will begin at 8 a.m. with music, breakfast treats and chances to win gift cards.

Another much anticipated new store opening is HomeGoods in Norman at University North Park shopping center. It opens Sept. 29. More on that later.
