If the building permit is any indication, a Nordstrom Rack is planned for Belle Isle Station. A $2 million permit to remodel the former Linens 'n Things space at 1741 Belle Isle Blvd. was filed Thursday with the city of Oklahoma City by a firm that designs Nordstrom stores.

Records show Erin Arneson, of Seattle-based architectural firm Callison LLC, filed the permit for Nordstrom Rack.

Nordstrom Rack is the off-price division of Nordstrom Inc. It would mark the company's first entry into the Oklahoma market.

Arneson said the 33,500-square-foot Oklahoma City store is slated to open in the spring.

The building is next to Walmart and includes a Babies R Us, Ross, Kirkland's, Old Navy and Shoe Carnival.

Price Edwards & Co. handles the center's leasing. When contacted by phone, agent Ev Ernst declined to comment. In January, Price Edwards listed Nordstrom Rack as a retailer looking into the Oklahoma City market.

Nordstrom didn't return a call for comment before deadline.

According to the company's website, 15 new Nordstrom Rack stores have been announced for 2012 and three for 2013. The Oklahoma City location wasn't included on the list, which was updated last week.

There are 108 stores in 27 states. Nordstrom Rack carries many of the same brands as Nordstrom stores but at lower prices, the company said. Customers also can find overstock items, closeouts and end-of-season merchandise transferred from Nordstrom stores.
