Norman 350 — a reference to scientists saying the atmosphere should have no more than 350 parts per million of carbon dioxide — was outside Native Roots Market at Main Street and Santa Fe Avenue.

The event included brief speeches about environmental concerns, a group bike ride and a group picture that was sent to be shown at Times Square in New York City and on the Web site www.350.org.

The Web site is continuously showing photos that were sent in Saturday from around the world.

"Norman was literally part of a huge movement which has the potential to undo the damage we have, often unwittingly, all been a part of,” said Mary Francis, a Norman 350 organizer. "This was a great beginning of the rescue of the common good and the future of our children and the generations to come.”

What happened to global warming? Oh now we call it a tiger instead of a leapord, same color but just a bit different with no facts available. With that said I have no doubt that man has contributed to climate change. Yes some by our industrialization and emissions ect. You put something in the air and its going to do something. However Al Gore, ah yea the global warming guru, makes a movie and then spends much of his time jetsetting pulloting the envirnment, his home costs $1200 a month to maintain in energy. Its the old do as I say not as I do, this man is largely, notice the word folks, a fraud and a hypocrite. With the high unemployment imploding economy these folks are worried about the environment. Well America doenst pollute like it used to because all the jobs are where? China who will have not a damn thing to do with cap and trade since they have bought our debt or alot of it. Your children and grandchildren are being sold to China Mary sorry to tell you. I have no problem with doing our very best to take care of the environment however where is the outrage over your guru who burns more "carbon footprints" than only the stats will tell and only God knows? Where is your outrage. I am tired of its for the next generation when in reality, yes take the blue pill and see how far the rabbit hole goes or take the red one and you wake up and you dont know jack squat. We do need more work on the environment but I am tired of these attention getting gatherings when these very people wont confront folks like Al Gore. Remember, it was global warming in the Unconventional Truth, but now its climate change. Hmm does a leopard change its spots?
