The Lexington First Baptist Church Clothes Closet Ministry has received a large supply of donated clothes, shoes, purses, backpacks, baby supplies, bedding and toys for victims of the recent wildfires. Registration is open for the 2012 volleyball league for boys and girls sponsored by the Norman Parks and Recreation Department. Leagues are being organized for ages 14 and under and ages 11 and under. Registration deadline is Friday. Play begins Sept. 12. Department accredited
The Norman Police Department received notification it has been granted the Award of Reaccreditation from the Oklahoma Association of Chiefs of Police, Oklahoma Law Enforcement Agency Accreditation and Professional Standards Program. To maintain accreditation, agencies submit to an on-site review every three years.
