Paving operation begins
Silver Star Construction, under contract with the city of Norman, has begun asphalt work and paving on Jenkins Avenue between Lindsey and Constitution streets. Motorists can expect temporary lane closures and traffic delays. If weather permits, the work will be finished by Wednesday night, officials say.
Municipal building lobby to get renovation
The south doors of Building A at the Municipal Complex at 201 W Gray St. will be closed for about a week while the lobby is renovated. The building permit staff, who were located there, have been moved to temporary offices. All business will be conducted as usual. The public is asked to enter the building through the northeast and northwest doors of the building. Signs will be posted. The south entrance will be reopened after about a week, but renovation work will continue until mid-September.
Signalization work starts
The northbound outside lanes of Classen Boulevard between Constitution Street and State Highway 9 will be closed for about two months. One lane will remain open for southbound traffic and both lanes will be open for northbound traffic. Work is ongoing on a signalization project and intersection improvements at Classen and Imhoff Road.
