Norman art museum begins noon concert series

NORMAN — The Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art, 555 Elm Ave., will kick off this season's Tuesday Noon Concerts with a performance by Ricardo Souza of the University of Oklahoma School of Music's percussion department. The concert will begin at noon Tuesday in the museum's Sandy Bell Gallery.

The 30-minute concerts are a collaboration of the OU School of Music and the museum. They will feature OU music students and faculty each Tuesday through Dec. 2, said Mary Jane Rutherford, community relations officer for the museum.

"The idea is to build an audience appreciation for art and music,” she said. "Art patrons enjoy listening to music in the museum, and music patrons have an opportunity to enjoy art while listening to music.”
