Norman art walk will feature dedication of new sculptures

Two new pieces of public art will be dedicated Friday as part of this month's Second Friday Circuit of Art activities in Norman.

Dreamer Concepts Gallery will host a book signing for Nicole Garber, author of the recently released “Satan Like Spam,” from 6 to 9 p.m. at the gallery, 324 E Main. The book is the second in a fantasy series about a teenage heroine named Rae.

The Firehouse Art Center, 444 S Flood Ave., will host an opening from 6 to 9 p.m. for its Holiday Gift Gallery, which features one-of-a-kind works by local artists available for seasonal gift-giving. The gift gallery will remain open for shopping 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays through Dec. 22, besides opening for another art walk 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 14.

Jacobson House, 609 Chautauqua Ave., will celebrate the opening of “Uncommon Brothers,” an exhibit of Cheyenne art, with an Indian taco sale from 5 to 8 p.m. and a lecture at 7:30 p.m. by artists Merlin Littlethunder and Michael Elizondo.
