Norman-based Cimarron Opera's Scholastic Opera Tour was featured in the Children's Showcase at the OK Mozart Festival this week. The Bartlesville-based OK Mozart Festival takes place each year and is one of the premiere music festivals in the country.

Performers from Cimarron's Scholastic Opera Tour performed an adaptation of “The Three Little Pigs,” with libretto by John Davies, according to a news release. The music in the children's operetta was entirely from operas by W.A. Mozart.

According to organizers of the festival, many audience members said the performance was the best Children's Showcase the event had ever had.

Cimarron's Scholastic Opera Tour has performed for more than 25 schools throughout central Oklahoma this year. “The Three Little Pigs” will be touring the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Library System July 9-20.

The operetta is suitable for children of all ages. A complete schedule is available on the Metropolitan Library website at

The Scholastic Opera Tour is scheduling visits to schools and libraries for the 2012-2013 school year.
