NORMAN

School supplies wanted

Cleveland County jail employees are collecting school supplies for families who lost their homes in the recent wildfires. They are asking for donations of glue, glue sticks, notebooks, pencils, pens, erasers, scissors, crayons, colored pencils, facial tissues and hand sanitizer. Supplies can be dropped off at the jail at 2550 W Franklin Road or the sheriff's office at 128 S Peters Ave. Deadline for bringing donations is 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Taste of South tickets available

The Moore Norman Technology Center will host the fifth annual Taste of the South from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Sept. 4 at the South Penn campus, SW 134 and S Pennsylvania. Tickets are $20 and available by advance purchase only. To buy tickets, go to www.mntechnology.com or call 364-5763, ext. 7365. The Taste of the South is the largest fundraising event of its kind in the metro area, featuring food samples from 22 Moore and south Oklahoma City restaurants. The event includes a silent auction and live music.
