Fall break camps set
Norman's Parks and Recreation Department will hold fall break camps for children ages 5 through 11 on Oct. 10-12. The camps will offer sports and recreation, games, arts, crafts and movies from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Irving and 12th Avenue recreational centers. Cost is $25 a day per child. Children should bring a sack lunch. Preregistration is required. To register, call Irving Recreational Center at 292-9774 or the 12th Avenue Recreation Center at 292-9764.
Rain barrel session set
The city's Environmental Control Advisory Board and the Cleveland County CONSERVATION District will sponsor a rain barrel workshop and distribution from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Forest Building Materials, 1051 W Rock Creek Road. The barrels will be distributed to the first 70 people to register. Each recipient must attend one of two 30-minute workshops. Those signing up for a free barrel need to show proof of residency such as a utility bill. For more information, call 292-9731.
Park plans to be unveiled
The city's Parks and Recreational Department will present their plans for improvements at four parks at the Parks Commission meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at City Hall, 201 W Gray St. Plans will be unveiled for Colonial Estates, Colonial Commons, Sunrise and Adkins Crossing parks.
