Crockett, a Guthrie native promoting his first album in three years, said that he is eager to play for an
Oklahoma audience again after a lengthy performance layoff.
"After a decade away, finding my fans and making new friends in the Norman-
Oklahoma City area is especially important,” he said.
His latest recording is "Wishing Sky” and it is scheduled for a Monday release.
"Wishing Sky” features 13 original songs with contributions from bluesmen
Ray Bonneville,
Jon Dee Graham,
Pierce Pettis, arranger Paul English, and multi-instrumentalist
Lloyd Maines.
As a contemporary Christian artist, Crockett worked with such artists as
Rich Mullins,
Sandi Patty and
Dallas Holm.
After years of recording and performing, Crockett and his wife, Dodee, created Blue Rock Artist Ranch and Studio, which is a recording facility, artist retreat and performance space in the
Texas Hill Country that had its opening in 2006.
That year, he also released "Passages,” which is an album of classical guitar pieces.
