Peter Mulvey will perform in concert

Peter Mulvey, a singer, songwriter and guitarist, will perform in concert at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Santa Fe Depot, 500 S Jones Ave., as part of the Performing Arts Studio's Winter Wind concert series. Tickets are $15, available through or at the door.

Since the early 1990s, Mulvey has developed a national following on the indie/folk rock scene with a relentless touring schedule and critically acclaimed albums. He began his musical career while attending Marquette University in Milwaukee, and honed his skills while traveling in Ireland. Since then, he has produced 15 albums.

Acclaimed poets will visit OU

The University of Oklahoma and World Literature Today will sponsor visits this week from two acclaimed American poets, Gerald Stern and Anne Marie Macari. A poetry reading and reception will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Santa Fe Depot, 500 S Jones Ave. A conversation with the poets will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday in the Lab Theatre in Old Science Hall on the OU campus.

Stern is the author of 17 poetry collections and has won the National Book Award, the National Jewish Book Award and the Wallace Stevens Award, among others. He was a 2006 nominee for the Neustadt International Prize for Literature.

Macari won the American Poetry Review/Honickman first book prize for her first publication, “Ivory Cradle,” as well as the James Dickey Prize from Five Points journal. She is the author of three books.
