NORMAN — A man was arrested Friday after a two-hour standoff with police.
Norman police responded about 1:15 p.m. Friday to a report of an armed man under the influence of alcohol and drugs, threatening to harm himself and any police officer who came to the house, said Norman police spokesman Capt. Tom Easley.
Police arrived at the house at 1617 Farmington Ave. and took the man into custody about 3:22 p.m., Easley said. No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.
Police aren't releasing the man's name pending a mental health evaluation, Easley said.
A nearby elementary school never went on lockdown during the incident, Easley said.
