The parade begins at 2 p.m. at the Eufaula Street railroad crossing and proceeds south on Jenkins Avenue to Reaves Park.
At 4 p.m., a ceremony at the Veterans Memorial in the park will cap off the day's events.
This year's parade honors the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team — about 3,000 soldiers who returned to Oklahoma this year after being deployed to Afghanistan and Kuwait.
Since July 2011, 14 soldiers from the 45th have been killed in Afghanistan and many more wounded.
“Welcome Home 45th” will feature numerous veterans' organizations, marching bands, floats, honor guards, car clubs and motorcycle groups.
The 4 p.m. ceremony will feature an F-16 flyover and keynote address by U.S. Army Brig. Gen. James Richardson, deputy commanding general for the III Corps at Fort Hood, Texas.
This is the second year in a row that Norman has staged a Veterans Day parade.
Last year's parade was the first since 1944, when a parade was held to welcome returning troops from World War II.
