e’s had a great year.”

OU not overlooking Jackrabbits
South Dakota State might be making only its second NCAA Tournament appearance ever, but the Sooners say they’re not overlooking the No. 14 seed, especially with what transpired in the last NCAA Tournament.

The Jackrabbits handled TCU, then took second-seeded Baylor to the brink in Lubbock, Texas, losing just 60-58 on a buzzer-beating shot by Kelli Griffin.

South Dakota State comes into postseason play red-hot, winning 11 of 12 games, including the Summit League championship to snag the NCAA automatic bid.

OU coach Sherri Coale said the Jackrabbits remind her of Big 12 foe Iowa State, who defeated the Sooners in Ames, Iowa, earlier this season.

"They play real hard. Everyone talks about Iowa State because they make a lot of 3s and they do,” Coale said.

"But where they’ll beat you is how hard they compete on every single possession. It may not look like that, because they maybe aren’t as athletic as some of the other teams in the Big 12, but they give complete and total effort to every possession.

"I think in that vein, South Dakota State is very similar to Iowa State. They move well without the ball, and they penetrate and pitch. They can all shoot it, and that’s probably in our league, the very best comparison we can have.”
