Norman's Crowns Tea celebrates tradition of church hats

Women and girls sporting colorful hats participated in the ninth annual Crowns Tea on Sunday at the Norman Public Library.

The Crowns Tea, which has become a Black History Month tradition, is based on the photo essay, “Crowns: Portraits of Black Women in Church Hats,” which celebrates the tradition of the church hat.
