A man who was wearing a fake beard and mustache robbed a north Oklahoma City bank Tuesday and fought with an Oklahoma County sheriff’s deputy.

RCB Bank, 11217 N May Ave., was robbed about 10:30 a.m., FBI Special Agent Martinus McConnell said.

The man walked into the bank and showed a black handgun to the teller and gave a note demanding money.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the robber was confronted by an Oklahoma County sheriff’s deputy who was off-duty and working security at the bank, McConnell said.

The robber managed to escape.

He is described as black, wearing fake dreadlocks, standing about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. He was wearing a gray suit.

McConnell said investigators believe the same man robbed Arvest Bank, 2025 Sonoma Park, in Edmond, on April 23 and First Fidelity Bank, 10904 N May Ave., on May 21.

The man was described as wearing a similar suit during one of the robberies.
