'Not-Too-Scary' performances delight young audiences in Norman, Oklahoma

The Norman-based Cimarron Opera Company staged children's matinees as part of a Villains Weekend fundraiser for the organization.

— Performers with the Cimarron Opera Company acted out favorite villains from children's stories during “Not-Too-Scary” matinees staged at the University of Oklahoma as part of a “Villains Weekend” fundraiser for the organization.

The children's matinees featured an interactive opera experience, a craft project and trick-or-treating.

Evening performances for adults featured drinks and hors d'oeuvres and song selections from “Carmen,” “Les Miserables,” “Tales of Hoffman” and “Ruddigore.”

The mission of the Norman-based opera company is to provide aspiring performing artists and creative technicians a forum for their talents and opportunities to gain training and stage experience, while providing cultural enrichment and education to various audiences across the state.
