Top 25
Turns out Oklahoma State had a top-25 recruiting class after all. The Cowboys finished No. 25 in The Sporting News recruiting rankings.

After signing top-25 classes in 2006 and 2007, OSU just missed Rivals' top 25. The Cowboys finished No. 26 on Rivals' final recruiting list for the 2008 class. OSU's class was ranked 40{+t}{+h} by Scout.

No reseating: Last fall there was discussion to widen seats by six inches to give fans more room. That plan was discussed, but only 500 seats will be reseated and that's due to Boone Pickens Stadium meeting the American Disabilities Act.

"We'd love to be able to widen the seats, but if you do that you have to reseat the whole football stadium,” said athletic director Mike Holder. "I don't think it's worth it at this time to do that.

"For every person who wants a wider seat you have several more that want to stay where they're at.”

Early odds: Based on BodogLife.com odds to win the 2008 national champion, the betting Web site essentially has OSU ranked 27{+t}{+h} in the nation. The Cowboys are listed at 60-to-1 odds to win the national title.

USC (3-to-1) is the favorite, followed by Florida, Georgia and Ohio State (6-to-1). Oklahoma (8-1) is fifth, followed by LSU (10-1), Texas (12-1) and West Virginia (12-1).

The only other Big 12 schools listed were Missouri (20-1), Kansas (30-1) and Nebraska (80-1). Texas Tech and Texas A&M were not listed.
