•‘Costas Now' examines sports media: Bob Costas returns with a special live edition of HBO Sports' "Costas Now” at 9 p.m. Tuesday to look at sports media in a 90-minute, town hall setting. Topics to be discussed by a group of high-profile sports personalities, including Mitch Albom, Al Michaels, Dan Patrick, Curt Shilling and Kellen Winslow Sr., will be sports talk radio, the Internet and impact of bloggers, sports television, athletes and the media and a discussion on race.

Van Pelt to co-host radio show: Beginning May 1, "SportsCenter anchor” Scott Van Pelt will become co-host of ESPN Radio's new "Tirico & Van Pelt” weekday show from noon to 2 p.m., joining Mike Tirico. Van Pelt also will become solo host of the 2-3 p.m. weekday slot, replacing Stephen A. Smith, who will concentrate on his television duties.

Rowe to speak at OSU sports media camp: ESPN sports reporter Holly Rowe will be the featured speaker at Oklahoma State University's second annual Sports Media Summer Camp from June 11-15. Dave Hunziker, the voice of OSU's football and men's basketball teams, is camp director. The camp offers practical experience in broadcasting play-by-play, production and print journalism. NBC, NHL extend partnership: NBC Sports and the NHL have extended their partnership through the 2008-09 season after NBC exercised its option. NBC is averaging a 1.0 rating for its regular-season telecasts, up 11 percent over last year.

Kelly interviewed: Oklahoma wide receiver Malcolm Kelly appeared as a guest this week on FSN's "Best Damn Sports Show Period.” He was asked to recall the strangest question he received by an NFL team during the draft interview process. "One team actually asked me, ‘When I argue with my girlfriend, do I get physical during the argument?' I said, ‘I don't argue with my girlfriend.'”
