During the Jan. 26 ice storm, Blevins slipped on the ice and hit his head on a porch step at his Edmond home. He said he was unconscious for 15 to 20 minutes and his "blood vessels reptured and hemorraged along the brain.”

As part of his recovery, Blevins said he has undergone cognitive therapy for two hours a day twice a week.
